Did time really heal my heart?  I think I could have been in love with him.  I know that when I told him that I liked him I never felt so scared in my life, but I never felt so alive.  When the words finally stumbled out of my mouth, I never felt so free because that secret that I held in my heart was finally floating in front of me.  It filled the air with hopes and with two words, he was able to slam it on the floor.  I’m sorry.  Those two words, I never thought they could hurt so much.  Now it’s been a long time and all I feel is numb.  As time went on, all I could feel is the growing of numbness.  So did time really heal me? Or did it make me worse?  I guess I’ll never know until I can love again, but since time has its own plans, the numbness has set in.
